Helen Floyd White Stansell

Helen was born in Floyd County, Georgia, on January 8, 1934, daughter of the late Conn Floyd and Ruth Stewart Floyd. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by loving husbands Robert Henry White and Robert Horace Stansell, Jr.; brothers James Floyd, Alton Floyd, Charles Floyd, Glenn Floyd, and Gail Floyd; sisters Louise Hunter, Evelyn Gay, Frances Owens, Joyce Beard, and Glenda Pierce.

She is survived by brothers Earl Floyd (Pat), Edwin Floyd (Ruth), and Max Floyd all of Rome, Georgia: sons Phil White (Melodie) of Evans, Georgia, and Steve White (Cynthia) of Woodbine, Georgia; grandson Brett White (Brianne) of Plainville, Georgia; granddaughters Madalyn Stever (Gavin) of Grovetown, Georgia, and Nicole Cullum (Tyler) of Evans, Georgia; 8 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

In her working years, Helen was employed at Belk-Rhodes as a salesperson, later served as secretary to the Rome airport manager, and finished her career at the Floyd County Baptist Association. In her later years she devoted herself to being a wife, mother, Mimi, friend, and homemaker.

Helen was a faithful member of Antioch Baptist Church, where she worked with the Senior Adults. Her life was rooted in her faith, commitment to following Jesus, and dedication to her family. She enjoyed spending time with those she loved, shopping and interior decorating, and her perfectly adorned home reflected the care and creativity she brought to everything she did.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at 12:00 pm at Eastview Cemetery.
